Jim BrownIn this this sample audio clip, Jim Brown and multihull designer Richard Woods discuss the practicality of small multihulls, including the advantages of building them in plywood/epoxy. Mr. Woods is most noted for his catamaran designs, which can be found at his sailingcatamarans.com website.

As of late, Richard has devoted a considerable amount of time designing 3 different small trimaran models. These trimarans range in size from 15-feet to 18-feet in length.

Depending upon sailors’ goals, Richard makes a case for small trimarans as being ideal daysailers for many individuals. But he still favors the larger catamarans for cruising.

He touches upon these topics with Jim in the complete audio, as well as offering some insight into a few of the different locations around the world where he has cruised over the past few years.
